A practicing artist and designer, David’s work focuses on innovation and expanding the discourse of Jewellery.
David’s work exists at the crossroads of jewellery design, sculpture and installation. It is the combination of the fine and precious, the poetic and uncanny with a constant search for refinement and time-less design that carries his working process.
A multi award winning artist, he is the Founder and director of Damase Ltd., a company focusing on design and technical innovation in diamond jewellery, holding patents on designs and methods of fabrication.

Research interests
David's research focuses on generating innovation in jewellery production and design.
Bridging studio practice with the industry, conceptual approach with technical and material innovation, David's interests lie in the hybridisation of practices to generate new knowledge.
With a passion for merging art and science David is interested in creating new fabrication methods for jewellery.
Practice
David is a spiritual engineer. He obsessively travels the world in a quest to confront himself with the wildest environments and the most fragile ecosystems.
He dissects natural elements, systems, beings. He extracts flower essences; he fishes pearls in the Japanese inner sea or shining air diamonds from the Mediterranean.
Back in his laboratory, the fragilities, instabilities, poetic tensions, states of co-dependencies or symbiotic relationships found in the natural realm become materials to play with.
With an extreme engineering precision and a poetic playfulness, they are given new logics and new forms. The works feels eternal while glowing with a resolute contemporary fragility.
