World-leading research with real-world impact
RCA research addresses major societal challenges, including cities and mass migration; future mobility; healthcare and wellbeing; ageing populations; art, culture and conflict; ceramics and digital printing; future materials and sustainability; communication and identity design; and inclusive design.
Research is undertaken across the range of art and design disciplines of the four Schools: Architecture, Art & Humanities, Communication and Design, as well across our Research Centres. Academic staff and research students contribute to the research culture of individual programmes and Schools, pioneering research that realises the particular insights that art and design can offer.
Below you’ll find highlights of current and recent research projects.
