Unleashing Innovation is a unique course created for innovation leaders, entrepreneurs and creative disruptors who aspire to deliver impactful solutions that transform their organisations, the value their solutions deliver to their customers and reshape the markets they serve. The pandemic has meant that almost every form of interaction with customers, and with your own workforce, has changed. Organisations are needing to transform their products and service for the new normal and do so fast and at scale, while managing risk.
In this course, you will learn how to turn compelling concepts into exciting new business ventures with robust and investable business plans, capable of delivering sustainable growth. The course will enhance your capacity to innovate services, systems and customer experience. It will show you how to exploit emerging technologies such as AI, Machine Learning, Blockchain, Robotics, new materials and advanced manufacturing techniques to reshape markets and propose truly disruptive solutions that deliver transformational and differentiated offerings to your clients and the communities you serve.
Product and service innovation needs to advance in-lock step with business model innovation, so the course includes new approaches to business model innovation, open innovation and creative leadership so that your solutions can be made even more impactful, and be delivered faster and at scale.
We are not only teaching you how to innovate smarter but how to innovate how you innovate.

This interactive online course is divided into eight sessions taken over a 10-week period.

New Models of Innovation – aligning the business and organisational strategy with a more open innovation strategy

Transforming the customer value for the 'new normal' through service and experience design
Session 3
Digital transformation and data-enabled Innovation: how agile meets lean startup and open innovation
Session 4
Creative leadership: strategy development and leading the creative enterprise
Session 5
Business model innovation and creating a compelling business plan
Session 6
Creating an innovation platform and measuring its impact
Session 7
Putting it all together to deliver an integrated value proposition and impactful value propositions
Session 8
Presenting to an expert panel and prestige networking event with leading designers, entrepreneurs and London’s practitioners

How will you learn?
The programme is delivered by leading academics from the RCA, with notable guest speakers.
Learning will take place online in sessions of two-and-a-half hours followed by small group tutorials with expert practitioners.
The sessions will include a combination of keynote lectures as well as a series of practical exercises. They will involve design ‘sprints’, creative workshops and a final review of project presentations by a unique panel of experts. There will be activities to guide your objectives and outcomes, all the time supported by expert tutors.
Participants may additionally have an opportunity for a post-masterclass discussion with the course leader (optional).
Online delivery
The course is organised in synchronous sessions in a live virtual environment that combines various digital platforms and tools.
Zoom
Using the videoconferencing service Zoom, the RCA's esteemed academics and facilitators deliver a mix of:
- live lectures
- case studies
- guided assessments
- presentations
Participants interact with the faculty and peers in breakout rooms in real time.
Miro
Participants engage in cross-functional team work with the use of visual collaboration tools.
Through the online whiteboard platform Miro, participants get to:
- interact with various formats and templates
- plan and brainstorm ideas
- create processes and workshop activities in the digital workspace.
Moodle
The College's learning platform Moodle is personalised according to the course's requirements to provide participants with a secure integrated system where they can access the course content.
The hub hosts a range of useful resources to enable the learning experience, including comprehensive timetables, pre-reading materials, course slides, curated videos, tutorials and session recordings.
Slack
Participants stay connected and communicate via the channel-based messaging platform Slack throughout the whole duration of the course.
In this space, the academics, facilitators and delegates get to network, plan the course activities, share documents and files during the live sessions or offline.
