Sangah Ko

Sangah is currently working as a designer for the Hyundai Genesis Future Design Team. Over the past 8 years, she has participated in diverse projects ranging from advanced mobility concepts to production-oriented designs, gaining expertise in both creative ideation and practical implementation.

‘At RCA, I hope to broaden my perspective through new experiences and connections, and apply these insights to human-centered future mobility design.’

Seongrock Jeong

Seongrock is Senior Interior designer at the Hyundai Design Centre working on such projects as the Hyundai Palisade (2024), IONIQ5 ROBOTAXI (2022) and Hyundai IONIQ5 (2021).

‘It’s been 8 years since I started [and] throughout my career, I have cultivated expertise in mass-production design processes while also developing a strong interest in exploring new conceptual approaches that challenge conventional automotive interiors. I am applying as a visiting researcher to…explore new interdisciplinary connections. Through this experience, I hope to broaden my perspective, cultivate more creative thinking, and ultimately expand the spectrum of my design practice.

Han Jung

Han has worked at Kia since 2009 working as part of the Kia Interior Design, Kia Exterior Design and Kia Advanced Design Team. Amongst other projects he has been lead designer on the Kia K8, Kia K3 and Kia Optima. His research project will focus on looking at ‘Future Speed’ and dynamic sports vehicles, and ‘Future Utility’ options for off-road vehicles.

The Visiting Design Fellowship programme

The Visiting Design Fellowship programme at the Intelligent Mobility Design Centre is a unique industry opportunity, aimed at outstanding Hyundai, Kia, or Genesis designers who wish to undertake an exciting exploration of work, guided by the RCA team. Designers spend a year in London, embedded in the Intelligent Mobility Design Centre and Intelligent Mobility MA programme gaining experience and skills through practice, supported by research, design and teaching staff.

Each fellowship is tailored to the individual needs of the visiting fellow aligned with the Intelligent Mobility Design Centre lab themes of Automotive Transitions, Humanising Technology and People and Places.

The Visiting Fellowship programme forms part of the renewed two-year agreement, between the Intelligent Mobility Design Centre and Hyundai Motor Group focused on fostering creativity, supporting future design leaders, and pursuing sustainable innovation in mobility.
