This special event celebrates 10 years of partnership between the Chelsea + Westminster NHS Trust (CW+) and the RCA.
In the same way that a library promotes a hushed environment, hospital waiting rooms set the tone for the care patients will receive. Over the past 10 years, students from the RCA's Sculpture MA and Contemporary Art Practice MA programmes have been invited to create digital artworks to be screened in CW+ settings. We'll be screening a curated reel of their work during the event and hosting a panel discussion about this unique, ongoing collaboration which will explore the impact on the artists' involved and the relationship between art and our health.
RCA alumni and Relax Digital artists Kit Meade, Paola Estrella & Dominique Croshaw will be in conversation with Sheena Basnayake (Hospital Director and Deputy Chief Operating Officer at the Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust), Dr. Harold Offeh (Head of Programme, Contemporary Art Practice) and Jordan Baseman (Reader in Time-based Media and Senior Tutor, Moving Image and Contemporary Art Practice).
