InResponse brings together graduating designers from MA Design Products, presenting design as an active form of inquiry rather than simply an act of object-making.
Design does not occur in a vacuum. It is an ongoing dialogue and a physical response to the pressures, memories, and habits that shape our daily lives.
Rather than adhering to a singular role, the exhibition explores how objects answer to real-world friction across three distinct pillars:
- ECHO: Considers diaspora, memory, and heritage, giving physical form to ancestral rituals, personal stories, folklore, and inherited crafts as they travel, adapt, and find new resonance.
- MATTER: Explores the behaviour and limitations of materials, drawing on natural forces, unstandardised geometries, workshop knowledge, and industrial waste to discover forms through making.
- SYNC: Examines the relationship between body, mind, and space, developing adaptive and sensory responses to how we move, focus, interact, and live alongside technology.
Together, the works demonstrate design as a process of continual response shaped by friction, discovery, and the realities of everyday life.
