Hosted by our MA Sculpture the next IKENGA gathering takes place at the RCA Battersea Campus, with four intergenerational sculptors presenting, it will be a quite a celebration of the wide and varied impact of British Diasporic talent in this field.
Our speakers are Oliver Enowonmu, Taslim Martin, Xavier Leopold and Donald Baugh. Xavier and Taslim are both graduates from RCA. They will discuss their careers and outputs, obstacles, opportunities and triumphs in the contemporary art world, as well as their journeys to prominence. The event showcases the work of four very different positions within Contemporary Sculpture from the Black Diaspora, working across mediums, materials and scales ranging from intimate to public works.
IKENGA ORGANISATION exists to further creative talent at the interface between education, practice and creative industries in the broadest sense, supporting cross-disciplinarity and diversity. We work with Soho House group accessing their membership of global creatives to provide mentoring and support for the wide and growing network.
