More information

Ronnie’s research is grounded in practice-based inquiry, using making, listening, and experimentation as primary methods for generating knowledge. Working through sound, sculpture, interaction, and DIY electronics, he explores how environments can be reactivated through sensory engagement.

He is particularly interested in sonic ecologies, transformation, and the relationships between human and non-human life. Sound functions as both a material and a lens through which he examines spatial change over time and directs attention toward overlooked presences.

Speculation plays an important role in his work; through narrative, imagination, and playful interaction, he explores alternative ways of perceiving reality, often blurring the boundary between reality and fiction.

Alongside this, his research extends into education and community-led practice, focusing on inclusive learning environments, skill-sharing, and accessible approaches to sound-making. Across all projects, listening is treated as a critical and transformative act.

His professional practice spans sound, sculpture, animation, and product-based work, with an expanding international focus. His sculptural work is held and exhibited in China, where he is actively developing a long-term professional presence. He runs a company there and is in the process of establishing a studio that brings together commercial creative work, artistic production, and educational activity.

He is the founder of White Noise, an independent record label and event series dedicated to experimental music and interdisciplinary performance. To date, White Noise has hosted 54 editions, featuring over 167 performers from 33 countries. Through the platform, he curates releases, commissions new work, and produces live events that support both emerging and established artists while fostering international exchange.

His sound practice has been presented internationally, including sound art installations in Berlin and live performances across Europe. In the UK, his work has been featured at Somerset House, and he has performed at the Design Museum as part of public programmes and events. Alongside exhibitions and performances, he continues to collaborate with artists, designers, and institutions across diverse cultural and professional contexts.
