Today’s leaders operate in a world changed by AI, profound socio-political-economic shifts, and rapid workplace transformation. The pace of technological acceleration and market evolution now demands a new kind of leader: one who can navigate complexity with adaptability, creativity, and resilience.

This new two-day RCA executive course prepares leaders to do exactly that. While this is not a course about AI, it is a course about how to adapt and thrive in an AI-shaped world. It bridges people and business leadership through human-focused practices that foster clarity and adaptability, enabling you to shape organisational culture and build resilience.

The course draws on proven design-led tools and ways of thinking reframed for today’s context. You will work with innovative methods, learning how to apply them through a strategic, contemporary lens to unlock creativity, create market differentiation, and support long-term economic prosperity.

By the end of the course you’ll have the confidence and practical ability to apply evidence-based frameworks and in-class experience directly to your strategic priorities.

In collaboration with the Royal College of Art, this executive level course is led by Marty Zalewski – educator, design and business leader. He brings experience advancing innovation, organisational transformation, and culture change in global enterprises and across client organisations including GE, Lloyds Banking Group, Google, Vodafone, Qatar Foundation, Morgan Stanley, and others.

About the course

Day 1 – Create Capacity for Change

You’ll begin by strengthening the inner foundations of people and business leadership with innovative practices designed for today’s reality. This gives you an edge that sets you apart from peers still operating with pre-AI, pre-pandemic models of leadership and change.

You’ll then learn to use design methods and tools to make sense of complex systems. These practices help you navigate ambiguity, identify emerging opportunities, and influence organisational mindset and culture with the intention. You will be able to carry this directly into your own organisation, to support work on:

  • AI enablement and technology adoption
  • Organisational and business strategy design
  • Board-level decision-making and alignment
  • Transformation and change management initiatives
  • Communication strategy and storytelling for influence
  • Public and commercial policy design

Day one will conclude with optional networking drinks to encourage meaningful connections with your peers.

Day 2 – Enable Strategic Growth

You’ll build on the foundations of Day 1, shifting the focus to systemic influence to explore meaningful growth across teams, organisations, and wider ecosystems.

You’ll apply evidence-based design tools and change-management methods. Through facilitated activities, you’ll learn how to design for influence and trust across complex stakeholder networks.

A highlight of the day is a Human–AI Collaboration workshop which expands leadership fluency across human, machine, and systemic intelligence.

During a Storytelling for Influence workshop, you’ll work on live challenges and learn to define narrative and apply experience-based metrics to drive team buy-in and measurable business outcomes.

The day concludes with a strategic retrospective and roadmapping exercise to translate learnings into actionable plans for immediate and long-term value across your organisation.

At the end of the course, participants will receive an RCA Certificate of Attendance, gain access to a peer network, and join a lifelong learning community to continue applying these frameworks long after the course ends.

During the course you will:

  • Refresh your leadership mindset for growth and transformation, becoming more effective, grounded, and intentional in a world of accelerating being shaped by AI, socio-political-economic shifts, and workplace transformation.
  • Understand yourself more deeply — as a human and a leader — strengthening presence and influence by seeing how values, ego, motivations, and unconscious conditioning shape decision-making, relationships, and impact.
  • Define and track new experience-based metrics that connect human potential with business performance, value creation, and investor confidence.
  • Partner effectively with AI, understanding how to collaborate with emerging technologies to accelerate insight, innovation, and ethical decision-making.
  • Experience mindfulness-based techniques to maintain clarity, creativity, and emotional steadiness under pressure, while better connecting across teams.

Learning takes place in person at the RCA Battersea Campus in London.

Across this immersive two-day executive education experience, participants learn together as a group and work in smaller teams to apply concepts directly to real challenges
