Scholarships & Awards

The RCA is committed to celebrating diversity, eliminating discrimination and promoting equality of opportunity to all.

The College believes it is vital to provide visible pathways of access to study across our programmes for those suffering financial hardship and for those from under-represented groups.

We are proud to run a number of named scholarship schemes aimed at enabling access for students with exceptional talent who would be unable to attend without financial assistance.

Scholarship Application deadline: 28 October 2020

How to Apply

In order to guarantee you will be considered for a scholarship you must apply for your programme no later than the 28 October 2020, 12noon (BST).

You will also need to email [email protected] stating the scholarship(s) for which you wish to be considered, giving your:

  • name
  • application ID
  • programme
  • the scholarship(s) you wish to apply to
  • Any protected characteristic disclosure (optional)

Candidates who hold a valid programme offer from the Round 1 RCA application process and who have registered an interest will be contacted in January and invited to submit a scholarship application.

The application document will ask you to provide evidence of your financial hardship and to disclose your ethnicity and/or any disability, if relevant. This enables the College to better assess your eligibility for specific Named Scholarships which support students with specific protected characteristics (please note that this is not a requirement).

Please read through the list of Named Scholarships carefully to check your eligibility before registering your interest.

Named Scholarships

The RCA is thankful to our supporters who share our mission to provide students with extraordinary talent access to our world-leading postgraduate education. Named Scholarships have been vital in ensuring a diverse, cross-cultural environment where talent is brought together to learn with and from each other. Prominent alumni who have benefited from Named Scholarships include Asif Kapadia, Tracy Emin CBE, Julien Macdonald OBE, Anthony Whishaw and Andrea Büttner.

Named Scholarships are based on the following criteria:

  • the strength of your RCA application (initial shortlisting)
  • financial need (scholarship application)
  • motivation and potential for leadership (scholarship application)
  • portfolio (initial shortlisting)
