Entropy, Ross Atkin
Our responsibility to future generations demands that we learn to live with far fewer resources than we currently consume. Moving beyond the superficial to make things truly sustainable takes understanding of both the quantitative technical reality and human motivations and behaviours. Design is in a privileged position to solve these problems; able to change behaviour through seduction rather than compulsion.
In my work I try to employ both my technical and emotional knowledge to create things that blend the two in new, interesting and useful ways. This experimental project is driven by the abstract principles of thermodynamics but seeks to apply them in ways humans can relate to.
