Jane was the inaugural recipient of the British Council’s Lina Bo Bardi fellowship in 2013, allowing her to develop research on new models of practice in Brazil inspired by the influential Brazilian Modernist architect Lina Bo Bardi. Jane’s research at the RCA builds on this initial study to critically examine the changing role of the architect and the alternative design and professional practices being developed as a result.

Jane Hall studied architecture at King’s College Cambridge and the Royal College of Art. She is a founding member of the design collective Assemble whose working practice seeks to challenge prevailing modes of design with a focus on uncovering the extraordinary opportunities that exist on the fringes of the everyday and the built environment. In addition to her practice, Jane was the inaugural recipient of the British Council’s Lina Bo Bardi fellowship in 2013, allowing her to develop research on new models of practice in Brazil inspired by the influential Brazilian Modernist architect Lina Bo Bardi. Jane’s research at the RCA builds on this initial study to critically examine the changing role of the architect and the alternative design and professional practices being developed as a result. Jane’s work on public space, occupation and collective action has been published in Blueprint magazine and the Architectural Review.
