The Royal College of Art (RCA) and Marta Ortega Pérez Foundation (MOP Foundation) today announce the 2026 Future Stories initiative as the four participants begin their studies on the RCA MA Photography programme in London. Future Stories, led by the MOP Foundation, is an annual philanthropic project established as a platform to support the artistic careers of young creative minds from Galicia, the region of Spain where the Foundation is based and carries out its activities.

The selected participants for 2026 are Ángel Gándara Rodríguez, Carla Montes Flores, Dafne González Martínez and Yixiu García Fernández. The four art graduates, travelling from Galicia, will join the cohort of the RCA’s MA Photography programme for three months, after which they will all have their work presented at the MOP Center in A Coruña, and featured in an edition of the Future Stories catalogue, as a launchpad for their professional careers.
During their time at the RCA, the participants will be part of the RCA community, and focus on their studio practice, experimenting with a broad range of materials and methods. They will be introduced to histories and theories of photography, in support of their artistic development, as well as receiving tutorials, engage with guest artists, curators and theorists, participate in workshops and visit galleries, museums and other relevant sites. They will have access to the College’s darkrooms (film development and printing), photographic studios, lighting and digital workspaces.
Future Stories participants will also contribute to the wider RCA student community through AcrossRCA, an interdisciplinary, College-wide unit that brings together students from all RCA MAs. Situated at the very core of the RCA experience, AcrossRCA draws on expertise from within and beyond the institution, providing a unique opportunity for students to demonstrate the contribution that the creative arts can make to our understanding and experience of the world.
