The shortlisted artists include Cooking Sections, a London duo comprised of Royal College of Art (RCA) Architecture Tutors Daniel Fernández Pascual and Alon Schwabe. Through the subject of food, the duo examine the systems that organise the world. Also nominated is RCA graduate Evan Ifekoya, as a member of the shortlisted collective Black Obsidian Sound System (B.O.S.S). B.O.S.S. is a QTIBPOC (Queer, Trans and Intersex Black and People of Colour) led sound system that challenges the dominant norms of sound-system culture across the African diaspora through club nights, art installations, technical workshops and creative commissions. The shortlist is completed by Array Collective, Gentle/Radical, and Project Art Works.

“Many congratulations to the five inspirational art collectives that have been shortlisted for the Turner Prize. We are extremely proud that this year's shortlist features RCA tutors Daniel Fernández Pascual and Alon Schwabe and RCA graduate Evan Ifekoya and we look forward to the important stories they'll continue to tell through their work.”
