Thinking about your next creative step? Join us in Tokyo for an informal, in-person conversation about studying at the RCA.

Whether your passion lies in art, design, architecture, communication, humanities, or interdisciplinary practice, this session is designed to help you navigate your postgraduate journey. You'll learn how the RCA supports artists, designers, and researchers, while gaining insight into living and studying in London.

You’re invited to meet Head of Executive Education, Tim Corvin and RCA Graduate Diploma 2024 alumni, Yukiko Shinkai in Tokyo to get your questions answered and connect with fellow creatives.

What to expect

Please note: As the RCA is a dedicated postgraduate institution, all attendees must be aged 18 or over.

About the hosts

Tim Corvin, Head of Executive Education at the RCA.

As a 1992 graduate of the RCA’s Design Management Master's, Tim Corvin has spent most of his career as a design and innovation consultant, working with global and regional clients and in leadership roles at various international design consultancies. Tim returned to the RCA 12 years ago as a visiting lecturer with the Global Innovation Design(GID) and Innovation Design Engineering(IDE) Programmes and has performed various roles since then alongside his own consultancy The Innovation Farm & Associates. As well as teaching on IDE & GID, this has included delivering executive education, knowledge exchange and collaborating with other academic institutional partners, especially the establishment of the RCA-IIS Tokyo Design Lab and Design Academy with the University of Tokyo.

Yukiko Shinkai, Artist and RCA Alum

Yukiko Shinkai is an artist based in Tokyo. She studied on the Graduate Diploma in Fine Art programme at the Royal College of Art from 2023 to 2024. Working primarily with ceramics, her practice explores the relationship between the human body and nature, as well as the circulation and interconnectedness of matter. She completed her Master’s degree in Design at Tokyo University of the Arts in 2026. She is currently working between Tokyo, Yamanashi, and Studio Kabto in Saitama.

Kenichiro Kaneko, Policy Professional and RCA Alum

Kenichiro Kaneko is a policy professional at Japan’s Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI), where he has worked on issues including economic development, energy transition, workforce policy, and regional revitalisation. He completed an MBA at the University of Cambridge in 2024 and an MA in Service Design at the Royal College of Art in 2025 through the Japanese Government Overseas Fellowship Program.
Based in Tokyo, he currently works on Japan’s energy policy agenda and is interested in how policy, business, and design can contribute to addressing complex societal challenges.
