Fermenting is an exhibition of works by our MA Ceramics & Glass students.

A Fermentation of ideas and making. The exhibition will run from 16–26 February 2023.

Founder of Fitzarts Advisory, Preston Fitzgerald hosts this show each year in his home inviting RCA students to intersperse their work amongst his own collection of antique furniture and contemporary art. He believes that this exhibition gives 'emerging artists a chance to consider how their work is displayed in a domestic setting.’ The exhibition comes at a pivot point in the students’ two year journey at the RCA. Up until this moment they have been predominantly working in closed studios, fermenting a quiet before.

The unique show provides an opportunity to share with an external audience the makers' future directions whilst allowing them to examine progress, and possible final detours and ruptures in their practice. “This exhibition comes at a point where they crystallise what their future practice will become – it’s an exciting moment' states Preston.
