Tristan's work focuses on concepts of value through the use of luxury materials, the integrity of the design process, and by attention to lack of waste.

Tristan graduated with a BA and MA in Womenswear from Central Saint Martins College of Art & Design in 1997. His two dissertations, one questioning the role of the human in the Information Age, the second investigating the apparent upsurge in the luxury goods market, were clear precursors to later work.

He went on to establish a design label under his own name. Tristan has led the brand for ten years, with a number of commissions and various exhibited works, and in that time has added footwear, accessory, and interior design to his range.
