Sylvie Bringas is a Tutor on the Animation programme in the School of Communication at the Royal College of Art.Â

Biography
-
Initially educated as a visual artist in France, Sylvie studied animation in the UK and became a maker of animation films as a director and producer for Halo Productions Ltd and Animus Films Ltd. Since 1996 she has made a number of animated films funded by Channel Four and the Arts Council of England, distributed internationally. She holds a PGCE and works in Higher Education, lecturing widely in the UK and abroad. She leads regular workshops in West Africa, where she is engaged in supporting the development of animation practices and auteur documentary forms.
Show moreIn 2012 she worked as editor and producer on There is Nothing Wrong with my Uncle, a long format documentary authored by Nigerian writer Dul Johnson, distributed by the Royal Anthropological Institute. Her research interests revolve around the documentary form, particularly documentary animation’s interactions with new disciplines and fields of application. She is currently making an experimental documentary on lorry art culture in Nigeria.
