Dr Simone Webb

Simone is an equity, diversity and inclusion specialist in higher education with an academic background in feminist history of philosophy and the later work of Michel Foucault.
Simone works in the Equity, Diversity & Inclusion team at the RCA and specialises in freedom of speech and academic freedom, LGBTQ+ inclusion, policy, and workforce equity. Before this role, they were an EDI Consultant at the University of Sussex with responsibility for the LGBTQ+ and Religion and Belief workstreams.
Before working in professional services, Simone completed a PhD at University College London. This looked at the seventeenth-century philosopher Mary Astell through the lens of Michel Foucault’s later work, bringing both into dialogue with modern feminist practices.
