Burton Nitta (Michael Burton and Michiko Nitta) is an Anglo-Japanese transdisciplinary art and design duo collaborating with science and technology to investigate our future world and human evolution.

Burton Nitta (Michael Burton and Michiko Nitta) are Tutors for the MRes course. Their work involves practice-based research, and they have regular lecturing positions at universities, including Central Saint Martins, University Arts London, and other institutions.

Their projects have been awarded funding, including the Arts Council England and Wellcome Trust Arts Award. Their works have been exhibited in galleries and museums, including MoMA in New York, Centre Pompidou in Paris, MAK in Vienna, V&A Museum in London and Royal Academy in London. They were awarded the honorary Doctor of Arts degree by Solent University in 2021.
