As Head of Commercialisation, Albert is responsible for the commercialisation of Royal College of Art Intellectual Property and of InnovationRCA’s various entrepreneurship programmes helping individuals, institutions and corporations develop their businesses through effective and sustained design-led innovation.
Albert is a chartered aerospace engineer, with a PhD from Cambridge University. His career brings together broad technical knowledge and significant commercial and operational experience of growing start-ups and SMEs. He has developed business for several early-stage technology companies, and has delivered multiple consultancy assignments, advising on major engineering programmes, on technology valuation and on commercialisation of innovation.
Albert started his career working on flagship European Space Agency programmes, such as Ariane5 and Hermes. He subsequently joined a start-up developing novel high-temperature heat exchange technology, where he led product innovation and manufacturing process development, as well as securing IP and exploring new markets for the technology. He went on to work in strategic and commercial roles for SMEs bringing innovative design and simulation software to market.
Operating internationally, Albert has a successful track record in raising funds from investors and public bodies (Innovate UK, EU). His experience includes licensing technology and establishing and managing partnerships with top-tier global OEMs and government laboratories, in sectors ranging from electronics to Formula 1 and nuclear power.
