A software that reduces the boundaries and connects live events and immersive virtual events and experiences.
The Converger is an innovative app that bridges the gap between the real-world and virtual events or games. Initially conceived to streamline and simplify immersive art production which is currently technically complex and expensive. Its patent-pending technology can also be used to democratise live Gaming and ESports play in the real world creating a new era of live, local gaming.
By making it easy to connect lights, sound systems, projectors, screens and the industry standard software used in venues to game engine/game content, The Converger brings the flexibility and creativity that virtual environments offer to the real world and vice versa. It provides players/gamers or audiences with live community based experiences.
The global games sector is worth $200 billion and, by pivoting to games, The Converger turns fans into brand ambassadors, reducing costs in marketing and testing for game companies while generating new revenue streams through ads, licensing, subscriptions, and organic social growth.
It also removes current technical barriers, allowing players to create their own mini gaming events and enjoy real-world fun with friends.
It generates fresh revenue opportunities, helping venues thrive by attracting gaming enthusiasts.
The Converger is being developed by artist Gaynor O’Flynn who is undertaking her PhD research at the RCA.
