About research impact
Jump to
At the RCA, impact is considered business-as-usual – research and practice across our Schools and Centres are naturally designed and delivered with the world beyond the university in mind. We are a catalyst for positive change in the world and proud of our impact ethos.
The Royal College of Art excels in world-leading art and design research with real-world transformational impact. Our insights and expertise benefit culture, communities, the economy and the environment. We achieve this through our commitment to supporting and creating opportunities for local, national and international collaboration. We are always looking for meaningful ways to advocate for the transformational impact of art and design.
Our team
The Impact Team is part of the RCA’s Research, Knowledge Exchange and Innovation (RKEI) Office, which provides support for researchers throughout the entire research and knowledge exchange lifecycle. We offer tailored support and funding for academic staff to plan for, achieve, and evaluate the impact of their research and practice, as well as training for staff and research students.
The Impact Team manages the delivery of funding and activities supported by the RCA’s AHRC Impact Acceleration Account. We are also involved in the RCA’s preparations for the REF 2029 Engagement & Impact submission, providing strategic direction and support for the development of impact case studies.
