Our Beautiful Neighbourhood has been commissioned by Wandsworth Council and the Royal College of Art as part of the Welcome to Wandsworth schools programme for The Mayor’s London Borough of Culture 2025.

There will be five exhibitions on display between 1–23 March 2026 in different locations. They are the culmination of a huge visual arts project for local children and young people from primary and secondary schools across Wandsworth, celebrating nature in our borough.

A team of artists has delivered workshops to over 50 classes, engaging over 1300 children between October 2025 and January 2026.

Pupils explored their local habitats and discovered some of the plants, animals and insects that can be found there. Children developed their observational and recording skills through fun drawing and collage activities. Their work has been photographed and will be displayed on colourful, vibrant banners.
