The Inside/Out Lecture Series is pleased to continue 2026 with a lecture welcoming Inés Miño Izquierdo, co-founder of La Cuarta Piel, to discuss craft-based architecture, urban research, and material experimentation in contemporary spatial practice.

Based in London, Inés is an architect, designer, and teacher whose work bridges making, research, and collective practice. Her approach is rooted in carpentry and sculpture, working primarily with wood and silver, while incorporating digital tools such as 3D scanning and casting processes that navigate the transition between physical and digital realms. Her research explores hidden narratives within urban landscapes, underground spaces, domesticated nature, and the quiet resilience embedded in structures and systems of care.

As co-founder of the award-winning collective La Cuarta Piel, Inés develops installations and public programming that generate bold spatial interventions, designing not only objects and environments but also processes and human interaction. Her work has been exhibited internationally, including at the Royal Academy of Arts, Thyssen-Bornemisza National Museum, and Milan Design Triennale.

This talk will reflect on collective working, hands-on material practice, and the role of spatial research in questioning established narratives within architecture and design.

Join us for an evening of conversation and exchange, followed by an open dialogue with Inés Miño Izquierdo.

Inside/Out is a student-led curation of in-person lectures and conversations, featuring esteemed leaders of the design industry. The series dissects and critically discusses the technologies that are reshaping the field today and in the future. Tickets are free and available in limited supply on a first come, first served basis.
