Mingxin Li is an activist researcher focusing on trans-generational knowledge continuation and transmission with local and indigenous communities.

Li is a Senior Research Associate on the AHRC-funded Visualising Relations to Land project. He is currently a PhD candidate at the Royal College of Art's School of Architecture. He holds a BA Environmental Design from the School of Design, Jiangnan University (2018), and an MA Environmental Architecture from the RCA (2020).

He also currently works as an architectural researcher with the INTERPRT and the G.I.T. (Territorial Research Group).

His collective and individual works have been exhibited internationally, including at Bergen Assembly 2025, the Helsinki Biennial 2023, Galeria Municipal do Porto and Het Nieuwe Instituut.

Li’s research focuses on the continuation and transmission of local/indigenous knowledge through spatial, community-based and collective practices.

Li is currently completing his practice-based PhD, which focuses on the transmission of inter-generational knowledge within the Tibetan community through collective pedagogical sessions and environmental actions. His work with INTERPRT approaches socio-environmental problems through situated visual evidence production in cross-scale digital environment.
