María is an art historian and curator exploring art as knowledge production through situated and live curating practice at the ecological turn.

Maria's academic work focuses on the more-than-human and the exploration of the live condition of artistic media.

From 2021–25 she served as Head of programme of TBA21–Academy (2021-2025), an interdisciplinary art and research platform with a focus on the oceans.

She has organised projects at Museo Nacional Thyssen-Bornemisza (Madrid), Ocean Space (Venice), and CentroCentro (Madrid); participated in lectures and workshops at institutions such as Museo Moderno (Buenos Aires) and Museo Centro de Arte Reina Sofía (Madrid), as well as acted as TBA21 artistic lead of the prestigious European Initiative S+T+ARTS4Water I & II and Buen-TEK.

María is currently reading for a PhD in Interdisciplinary Methodologies and Curatorial Practices generously funded by the Monash Warwick Alliance Joint PhD.
