Benjamin is an experimental footwear designer, artist, and educator whose practice positions fashion as both artefact and medium, exploring its potential as a vehicle for conceptual, critical, and performative expression.
Before establishing his independent practice, he spent a decade designing for global brands and collaborating with factories worldwide, developing a comprehensive understanding of industrial processes that continues to inform his work.
His shift toward conceptual design began with Birth Life Death and Resurrection (2012), a series of kinetically engineered shoes that materialised their titular themes. The work received the International Talent Support YKK Award for creative integrity and artisanal savoir-faire.
Defined by technical rigour and unconventional experimentation, Benjamin’s practice uses footwear to engage broader discourses around inclusivity, sustainability, sociopolitical commentary, and consumer culture, asserting the fashion artefact as a site for both aesthetic and intellectual inquiry.
Exhibited internationally, from Detroit to St. Petersburg, his work spans performance, film, and exhibition contexts. Alongside his practice, he brings over fifteen years of teaching experience, with academic appointments at Central Saint Martins, the London College of Fashion, and the Royal College of Art.
