COBLUM is developing an automated chest compression device that empowers bystanders to respond to cardiac arrest. Its user-friendly design automatically delivers life-saving chest compressions, ensuring continuous support until paramedics arrive.
Automated External Defibrillators are only effective in 25% of cardiac arrests as they only restart the heart and do not oxygenate vital organs. This gap highlighted the need for a better solution, as most bystanders lack training, and even trained individuals struggle with effective chest compressions due to physical fatigue.
This led to the creation of Guardian, a patent-pending automated chest compression device that ensures continuous, effective compressions until paramedics arrive.
The Guardian device stands apart from its competitors by being designed for use by any member of the public, not just healthcare professionals. Its design requires only one person to act and save lives, and it can be deployed and operational in under a minute.
The company was founded by Leo Melloul, Innovation Design Engineering graduate.
