MRes Entrance Requirements
Online applications are now open. Apply here.
Candidates for all courses are assessed on their existing qualities as demonstrated in their work and in their interview, as well as on their potential to benefit from the programme and to achieve high standards overall. The assessment will consider: creativity, imagination and innovation evident in the work; ability to articulate the intentions of the work; intellectual engagement in relevant areas; appropriate technical skills; overall interview performance, including oral use of English.
IMPORTANT: MRes Healthcare Design is run jointly with Imperial College London, and consequently applicants need to have a degree at 2:1 level or higher (or the equivalent). In exceptional circumstances, applicants without this degree qualification will be considered (for example, applicants with excellent professional experience or outstanding creative or technical abilities) following completion of a ‘Special Qualifying Exam’ (SQE). Please check the Imperial College London website to ensure you meet their requirements.
Candidates who do not speak English as their first language are required to produce evidence that within the previous two years they have achieved an IELTS exam score of 6.5 with 6 in writing.
Tier 4 Visas
If you require a Tier 4 visa (part-time route) for the MRes Healthcare & Design programme you will have work restrictions and will not be allowed to work in the UK during your studies. If you are currently employed on a Tier 2 visa you can apply for the part-time MRes Healthcare & Design programme as long as you can continue to work for the same employer who is sponsoring you, otherwise you would need to switch your visa to Tier 4 (part-time route) and would no longer be allowed to work in the UK.
For specific visa questions please contact our Student Support Office.
Due to a substantial increase in applications, we are no longer accepting applications to this Programme for a September 2019 start. New applications are welcome but will be considered for a September 2020 start. If places become available for a 2019 start, successful applicants will be contacted.
If you are considering applying to the College, you can prepare for your application by researching the academic programmes offered by each of the Schools, and accessing the Tuition Fees and Funding Support information available. The College provides a number of bursaries towards fees and the costs of living in London. They are available to home and EU students on a competitive basis.
