The unfaithful reproduction of reality negates what for many is photography’s greatest asset: the faithful surveyor. My practice explores the uncertainties of perception, and the gap between what is considered reality and illusion. Notions of the exotic and the cinematic play a role in the aesthetic of the photographs. Fundamentally, my work revisits the idea that photography always alters what it depicts.
