MA work
I have always been interested in the tactile, flexible nature of fabric, its interaction with light, and how that can alter one’s perception of space.
The focus of my design practice is producing large-scale fabrics that divide interior spaces, with an emphasis on translucency, texture, and spontaneous gestural mark making.
Working in collaboration with product designer Gangjian Cui I have produced transformative structures, which hold fabric in states of tension. These structures are able to move allowing the emergence of new volumes and textures, which are dynamically in contrast to the primitive marks upon them.
