Coral Papilio

Coral Papilio is a floating modular system. It filters sunlight to promote coral’s growth in algae-occupied shallow coastal sea and attracts local touristic opportunities to create a resilient ecosystem which can assist coral conservation works, raise people’s awareness and benefit other social and educational values.

  • Yuanjing is a hybrid innovation designer who is always seeking symbiosis among individuals, the society and nature. Her enthusiasm for corals leads to her current focus on designing an invention to assist coral conservation and local society developments for creating a sustainable and resilient ecosystem. Coming from a jewellery design background, she has the belief in combining these rationales and aesthetics as her motivation to face challenges of designing for the future.
