• My practice responds to the quotidian subject within a contemporary culture of visual overload. Abstraction comes as a result of our natural impulse to simplify or adorn the visual and aural information we perceive from our environment, such that our interpretation never quite matches the original. Through the dissolution of logic and perceptual constrains, as represented by re-interpretation of fragments and memories accumulated, the resistance to the underivative opens up the possibility of an awareness of the immediate.
