Blue Whale
Blue whale’s are the largest living mammal on the planet. The inspiration for this project was the blue whale cruising freely under the ocean. It is very obvious that the Underground in London has limited space. During peak time, it almost feels claustrophobic inside. What is happening outside? Where am I now? Why is it so hot inside? Having felt these emotions from field research, something had to be done. Creating screens on the celling and sides of the tube that show the outside view of your current location provides something for people to see. Even when you are underground, you can know what is happening inside through screens in the interior. Having seats that are height adjustable with self-cleaning mechanisms will also to provide more space where people can actually put some luggage without bothering others. Additional space is achieved by this new seat design, while the screen helps eliminate the claustrophobic feeling passengers endure during crowded journeys.
