An Invisible Landscape Conditions The Visible One. A Fold Of Distance

Tablecloth, Not For Eating is a surreal story that I created, which originates from my childhood experience in China. The whole incident unfolds from a blue tablecloth, including five scenes that happen between people and 'food', and another scene involving people and a ceiling fan.

Through my material work, drawings and moving images, I discuss the subversiveness and absurdity of the human world in a poetic and child-like way.

  • I'm a storyteller. I grew up in China; my childhood experience is the deepest resources of my personal creativity and also the start of my journey to freedom.

My MA practice at the Royal College of Art involves using a graphic medium to integrate multi-media in my art work, through writing, drawing, painting, material making and film making, in order to cultivate a universal expression about creativity.
