PIxel Paint: Paintable Digital Display

Pixel Paint is the final outcome of an experimental design project, an investigation into new ways to display digital images. As the subtitle clearly expresses, Pixel Paint is a concept of a paintable digital screen, which refers to the methodology of painting. It would be enabled by future-focused technology, and nano-scale manufacturing.

Fundamentally, it aims at suggesting delightful experiences of curating digital information. It is delivered to the user in an innovation matter –pixels, a dynamic array of information, can be accessed as a form of static and authentic material, the Ink. The tangible medium that contains changeable digital information challenges perception of audience, which would expect to result in interesting outcome – new interactions and experiences.

This final outcome of Pixel Paint has its roots in carefully designed interactions in order to create intuitive engagement of users by reinterpreting the existing concept of the digital screen. It could enrich experience for digital images by adding a layer in the path of transmitting digital information.
