It started as an exploration of traditional patterns from the native culture in my home, Taiwan. Native people believed everything contained spirits and adopted the philosophy of harmonious coexistence between humanity and nature, hoping that in the afterlife they could become the sacred presence watching over their offspring. Today, capitalism has stepped in and choices are bought at the expense of our great traditions. We are forced to rediscover beauty and restore our belief in a processed, synthetic reality.
My goal is to create a paradise where one may commune with nature and pass stories to the next generation as family heirlooms.
