This collection is informed by the contemplation of everyday objects around us. Through our daily use, we build up a fixed relationship with objects, and become used to their shape, weight, material and so on. In this project, I aim to establish a language and connotation around objects and give them the potential to mean something else. I consider the form of an object as a temporary shelter or container for its inside material, so a ready-made object is prepared to “pour out” its original content along with the universal notion of itself. Through the action of breaking down and building up in an existed form, I intend to provide everyday objects with an alternative identity and transform them carefully without losing their singularity at an empirical level.

I consider myself as a jeweller and object maker. I am interested in exploring the full potential of jewellery with applying artist’s strategy. My work is a personal response to everyday experiences and observations, as I am curious about how we perceive the object around us through its form, material, weight and other physical characters.
