    Innovation Design Engineering, 2009–2015

  • Wenjin Yao received her engineering BA degree in Industrial Design in Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics in China and then did MA research in D’Art et Métiers ParisTech in France, majoring in Virtual Reality and Innovation. She had several work experiences in hi-tech related design projects, such as worked in a satellite structure design project in China, and an interaction design project in which digital and virtual technique played an important role in the design process. In the previous experiences, Wenjin felt the lack of consideration of people and their cultural background and raised the question what role should technology and culture play in hi-tech design? She found that “hi-tech” concepts were more concerned about its commercial allure than the technological content.
