Through printed surfaces and objects, I look at the constant construction of imposed and composed realities, and reproductions that replace and represent.Â
I often go back to the idea of archives and how alternate worlds of archival reality are formed, in which fiction and subjective choices merge with what we think of as Fact.
Working with layers, and having the possibility to reproduce endless versions\variant alter egos of images, is what fascinates me the most about using the printed medium. I like translating an idea across different materials and letting it manifest itself in a variety of forms and textures.Â
Recently my work has been concerned with depictions of nature meant to preserve and record, classify and occupy. I look at natural history archives as well as recreations of plant and animal life, all of which form a portal into the idea of Nature that we continue to define for ourselves.
