MA work
MA work
My work aims to capture the raw beauty and effortless simplicity of nature through careful exploration and manipulation of both colour and material.
Using some of the more distinct features of the British Isles, I have tried to capture the mood and feel of a rough island landscape and embody it within a heavy menswear material.
Inspiration for this project comes from the white cliff faces and coloured sands of the Isle of Wight.
When viewing the island from the mainland I was able to gain a good overall perspective. Observing the changing conditions of the sea and sky against the backdrop of the Island helped me to embody rough textures and cold pastel colours into my palette.
Careful examination of the many different coloured sands at sunset on the island added a warm and nostalgic feel to the project.
