A Vertical Movement

In China, the concept of the vertical city is a reality: most people live in a highrise, high density urban environment. My project is mainly inspired by my hometown, Shenzhen, a fast growing vertical megacity. The dramatic urbanisation is reforming city infrastructure into the third dimension and pushing people to adapt to this vertical condition of spending more time indoors. The project proposes a semi-public autonomous vehicle, which would be a part of the building infrastructure to fill the gap between outdoor and indoor space, and also create another space to harmonise with architectural environment at ground level.

  • I speak Mandarin, English and Cantonese. I am interested in exploring more possibilities with exterior design. I love public transport, which I want to focus on in my future career. I like to explore how people live in the city, and how the city will develop. I always question what the urban future of transportation will look like.
