It is estimated that there are 102,000 children and adults living with a brain tumour currently in the UK, and more than 11,500 new cases of brain tumours every year.
Cancerous or non cancerous, brain tumours highly affect every aspect of the lives of not only the people that get diagnosed with it, but their loved ones as well.
Alke, which means the spirit and personification of courage and battle-strength in Greek mythology, is a service platform for people with brain tumour and their carers, that helps them understand, adapt and easily manage their rehabilitation on a daily basis.
It offers personalised support by leveraging technology, in order to help people with brain tumours regain control of their lives, increase independence and reduce unnecessary hospital visits. At the same time, Alke helps carers balance their caring roles and maintain their desired quality of life by ensuring that they receive both the medical knowledge and emotional support that they need.
