Body /Object / Ontology / Repeat
My work exists somewhere between the Symbolic, the Real and the Imaginary. Understanding the Real as speculative, the image stripped of its integrity and the body constantly caught between the fetish objects of its own construction and the desire mechanism of the obscenity vacuum.
I try to understand the implication of the objects gazing back, of a social structure to which we perform, bodies without organs, just as the obsolete clutter of fetish objects perform for us, to the rhythm of a repetative, accelerated accumulation; under the lamp of a desire reflected.
My aim is to consider both the wider social implications of the image as object within the commodity exchange dynamic, but also to examine my own fascination with the plastic, the perfect and the sex appeal of the inorganic.Â

My work inhabits a speculative real, situated somewhere between the Symbolic, the Imaginary and the Real itself. Drawing from cinema, advertising, composite imagery and the cast-off, disposable culture of the Internet, I explore the position of the subject and the gaze in a realm of flat ontological structures and virtual possibilities.
Picking up aesthetically where 70s Pop left off, I try to understand the implication of the objects gazing back, of a social structure to which we perform, bodies without organs, just as the obsolete clutter of fetish objects perform for us, to the rhythm of accelerated accumulation and under the lamp of desire reflected.
I work with a mixture of moving and static material, image and text, found, manipulated and collaged together to propose imagined landscapes whose narratives reflect a possible reality I see within the more discernable imaginary bubble of the conscious. How the perfect image is implanted in our subconscious, sparking the desire mechanism for unattainable perfection. How the disposable kitch of everyday continues its existence in the virtual space beyond the screen, returning almost like the excreted bi-product of our social, capitalist construct.
The virtual space becomes as concrete as the physical and the soundscape of the video works draws the viewer into a blank auditorium, where the performative object is allowed to exist as equivalent to the voyeuristic subject, trapped in a returned gaze.
My aim is to explore both the wider social implications of the image as object within the commodity-exchange vacuum, but also to examine my own fascination with the plastic, the perfect and the sex appeal of the inorganic.ÂIn the future, I plan to be now, since its impossible to be now, in the present.Â
