Una Hamilton Helle

MA work

There’s so much choice, it’s really overwhelming sometimes.

It’s like having everything and therefore nothing to position yourself against. It almost pushes you into this state of insignificance, levels you.

So we strive to make order, to locate ourselves through self-imposed rules.

And out of this again come jolts of thought or action that pierce the order and offer a sense of belief or relief. But then they can never fully operate outside where they come from, so they too eventually get swallowed up and made orderable again.
