Regalvanize and The Colour of Air
Regalvanize: Galvanised steel has always been highly sort after in industrial applications and in exterior architecture due to its resistance to corrosion, but never for aesthetic purposes. Its surface is often lacquered hiding its unique aesthetic qualities.
My project aims to investigate the galvanisation process, finding new applications and celebrating its unique crystalline structures.
The Colour of Air: In this project particulate matter, mostly originating from personal transport and manufacturing industries, is treated like an untapped resource. Filtered from the air we breath this harmful by-product is used to produce pencils, dye and ink for screen printing using an ancient Egyptian ink recipe.
