Flacova - Digital Flavour Sensations
Flavoca is an experimental toolset for creating simulated flavour sensations. These devices could enable the preservation and recreation of familiar flavours as well as the synthesis of yet undiscovered genres of flavour. Flavoca tools are inserted into the mouth where they create a tuneable current to stimulate the taste buds and when chewed emit artificial chewing sounds.Â
Flavoca has many potential applications: For instance, it could be used by chefs to aid them create new taste compositions, it could aid patients that are unable to eat to enjoy the full pleasures of a meal and finally it could add a completely new layer of experience to current entertainment and communication technology.
