On Tension | Cargo Runner
On Tension
Inspired by the construction of bridges, On Tension adopts the engineering achievement of suspension bridges to create a new type of furniture. The outcome is a lightweight, three meter spanning bench.
By using a tension cable, the amount of material to construct a stable structure is minimised and at the same time allows for a comfortable flex while sitting. For transport and storage the legs can be easily detached, transforming the bench into a 48mm thin board.
Cargo Runner
Cargo Runner allows you to transport your belongings while running.
3.5 million passenger journeys are made every day on London‘s Underground and in the future there will be even more. Therefore we have to find new solutions to enable short distance travel in the city and to reduce the demands for public transport.
With my product I want to open up the possibility of using running for commuting by offering a new solution to overcome the limitations regarding the transportation of your personal belongings. Nowadays the only possibility to take your items with you while running is to use a running bag, which is very limited in terms of weight and size, and with a load of 2–3kg already influences the quality of running. Cargo Runner allows you to easily transport up to 15kg with no negative effect on your movement.
Technically,
this becomes possible by separating the load from the runners’ body by pulling
it behind on a separate device, which takes the entire weight. This 'trolley'
is connected to the runners’ hip and allows him to move freely and without
limitations.
