Born 1978Â in South Korea.
Lives and works in London. We employ our sensibilities and reasoning to understand things, since we are beings thinking in a physical body. This means that the object of understanding has to go through translation from the process of being censored and reasoned in order to be delivered to the subject. When something is being translated, metamorphosis is unavoidable and so, what the subject understands of the object is transformed from the original source.
Language cannot be free from this process and so any language has innate limitations. All things existing in the world however hold the possibility to be translated into different languages and these possibilities provide us a chance to understand the objects more closely because they supplement each other’s deficiencies. My body of work aims to enable a different perception on the objects by employing different languages of this translation process.
